Using my professional MS Paint skills, I show how car's faces are changing.
- 6 general pieces have gone down to 5
- Gone are individual grilles. Now just one giant mass of plastic (Audi, Lexus, Ford, etc.)
- No more small fog light housings. Now huge faux supercar vents often with LED DRL's
- Headlight assemblies come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some nice, some WTFy (370Z)
- Also, faux splitter have been implemented on super fast racecars like the Jetta and Hyundai. Usually having pointed edges somewhere on each end.
Again, some cars are nice looking using the new template, some though lost all of their charm and class. Like grandpa taking selfies in the restroom. Once a respected man full of class and wisdom. Now posting how his meds are cray cray expensive or whatever kids say. Example...
and
finally
LOL!!!!
So I start a new campaign, SAVE THE CLASSY CARS!
or perhaps "classy" has changed. If so, ignore all of this :]

All the new headlights are so squinty. Old Audi, Jag, Lexus: eyes wide open. New Audi, Jag, Lexus: squinty.
And I actually can't stand the LED foglights/DRLs. At least not when they are individual LEDs looking like dotted lines as in Audis and Benzes. I prefer LEDs hidden behind a reflective piece of glass/plastic to make it a continuous light bar like Volvo does, and Lexus actually too, I guess.

I wonder how hard it would be to work on one. Surely the right owner could work out all the bugs these cars had and make it a wonderful fair-weather playing around car.

a 2010 S550's front LED system look horrid because of the individual lights. Straight up Xmas tree lol. Dots everywhere! Sculpted and clean light bars are much nicer.

I think this is classy. Except for that rear end. In black, like my neighbor had, you barely notice the vents. :)

back end is a bit off but not too bad. I'm not actually a fan of the lower grille. So much going on
one fine expesive truck for sure

Yeah, but on the smaller engine options it looks awkward. I want to photoshop that lower grill out and see how it looks!

Jack Baruth wrote pretty much the same thing on Road&Track sometime within the last year I think, but I can't find it now.

Yes to the headlight housings. Toyota ones bug me the most. Protruding out from the body lines for no reason.

The MK5 was very very well designed. I don't like the MK6 Redesign though
